Some wedding days feel like they couldn’t have been more perfectly planned, even when the weather has other ideas. Nat and Allen’s Rocky Mountain Show Jumping Wedding near Calgary was exactly that; a day filled with laughter, love, and a whole lot of heart.
You may remember Nat and Cleo from their stunning fall equine session! It was such a dream to see them again and capture more memories together.
A Stunning Calgary Equine Wedding Venue
As the first couple to ever get married at Rocky Mountain Show Jumping (!!!), they kicked off a new chapter for the venue in the most memorable way possible. Surrounded by beautiful gardens, rolling equestrian grounds, and the people who mean the most to them, every part of the day reflected who they are as a couple.
Their love for horses has always been a huge part of their story, so it was only fitting that Cleo and Blue were included in the celebration. One of the most unforgettable moments of the day was watching Nat ride Cleo across the Grand Prix ring before the ceremony. It truly was an incredible grand entrance!
The weather gave us a little bit of everything. We started the day with sunshine before the rain rolled in, but if anything, it made the celebration even more memorable. Nat and Allen never let the changing forecast affect their excitement. They embraced every moment, laughed through the rain, and focused on what truly mattered: marrying their best friend.
A Colourful Summertime Tent Reception
Their reception inside Rocky Mountain Show Jumping’s beautiful tent was full of joyful conversations, heartfelt moments, and the kind of celebration that feels effortless when you’re surrounded by your favourite people. Every detail felt warm, cheerful, and inspired by the gardens and equestrian setting that made this venue so unique.
Since the rain meant we couldn’t spend as much time with Cleo and Blue as we had hoped, we planned a second portrait session on a sunny day after the wedding. It was the perfect opportunity to create the equine portraits they had envisioned, with warm sunshine, beautiful light, and plenty of time to celebrate the incredible bond they share with their horses.
A Perfect Way to Begin a Legacy of Weddings!
Nat and Allen’s equine wedding was a beautiful reminder that your wedding day doesn’t have to be perfect to be unforgettable. Sometimes the unexpected moments become your favourite memories. From riding across the Grand Prix ring to celebrating through the rain, their day was completely and authentically them.
