Vanessa and Liam’s wedding was the perfect example of this magic, and I was honoured to be their springtime Calgary wedding photographer and witness their unforgettable celebration.

A Calm Morning at the Fairmont Palliser

The day began at the historic Fairmont Palliser in downtown Calgary. It was a calm and joyful morning, filled with laughter, heartfelt moments, and the excitement of what was to come. Vanessa and her bridesmaids got ready in one of the Palliser’s elegant suites, sipping champagne and soaking in the magic of the morning. These getting-ready moments—so full of anticipation and connection—are always some of my favourites to capture.

Ceremony at the Calgary Golf and Country Club

From the hotel, we headed to the Calgary Golf and Country Club for their Springtime Calgary wedding, where the rest of the day unfolded beautifully. Nestled along the Elbow River, the club offers classic charm and stunning grounds, and it was the perfect setting for Vanessa and Liam’s timeless celebration.

The ceremony took place indoors in front of a gorgeous stone fireplace, framed by soft candlelight. The candles gave the space a romantic, warm ambience that set the tone for an intimate and emotional ceremony. Surrounded by family and friends, Vanessa and Liam exchanged their vows with happy tears and huge smiles—it was one of those moments that leaves a lasting impression on everyone in the room.

After the ceremony, we stepped outside for portraits around the golf course. Vanessa and Liam were naturals in front of the camera, so relaxed and connected—it made capturing their love an absolute joy.

The reception was a vibrant and joyful celebration, with every detail thoughtfully planned and beautifully executed. Vanessa’s eye for design, paired with the expert guidance of Lynn of Chemistry Events, brought their vision to life in the most stunning way. Pops of colour filled the space—bright, cheerful candles lined the tables, personalized napkins for each guest added a meaningful touch, and a bold “The Adams” sign made a fun statement behind the head table. A blend of elegance and fun, it reflected their personalities in every detail; perfect for their springtime Calgary Wedding.

Heartfelt Speeches, First Dance and a Night to Remember

After dinner, the speeches were heartfelt and touching—filled with emotion, laughter, and beautiful stories that spoke volumes about the love and support surrounding Vanessa and Liam. It was clear how deeply they are cherished by their people.

As evening fell, the weather gave us a surprise—true to Calgary form, a light snow began to fall. We quickly snuck outside for some evening portraits in the fresh snow. The snowy backdrop created such a romantic contrast to the earlier spring warmth—it felt like we had travelled through two seasons in one day!

Their first dance was incredibly sweet, a quiet moment amid the celebration that felt straight out of a movie. And then, the party truly began! The dance floor was full of energy with guests laughing, dancing, and celebrating the newlyweds late into the night. It was the kind of reception where love and joy filled every corner of the room—and those are always the best kind.
