There’s something magical about a Stewart Creek wedding in Canmore; the mountain views, fresh alpine air, and ever-changing skies. Shima and Evan’s summer celebration at Stewart Creek Golf Course embraced all of that beauty (and a little bit of rain!) for a truly unforgettable day.
From the start, Shima and Evan’s story has been full of connections. They matched on two dating apps, only to discover they shared a mutual friend. Their connection was instant—so much so that they had a second date the day after their first, and made it official within a week. They’re a fun-loving, adventurous couple who share a love of the mountains, hiking, board games, and even escape rooms!
It made perfect sense for them to celebrate their wedding at Stewart Creek Golf Course, surrounded by the Rocky Mountains they adore. The venue provided the ideal backdrop for both their ceremony and reception, offering views that complemented their vibrant personalities and their carefully chosen colour palette of deep purples and blues. The bridesmaids’ purple dresses were especially striking against the dramatic mountain scenery.
One of the most beautiful aspects of this Stewart Creek wedding was the fusion of traditions. They began with a Persian ceremony, rich in cultural meaning, followed by a Western ceremony. Despite a little rain, Shima and Evan’s spirits stayed high. If anything, the moody weather made the day even more romantic. The soft mountain light was absolutely perfect for portraits, and we took advantage of multiple stunning Canmore locations for their wedding photos.
The wedding details perfectly reflected their personalities. Evan even started his morning playing board games—a small but personal touch that set the tone for the day. Their reception was full of joy, laughter, and dancing, including an unforgettable moment when they hit the dance floor to “I’m a Believer.” The evening ended on the most magical note with a sparkler exit, as their friends and family lined the path with glowing sparklers, creating a warm, golden send-off that perfectly captured the excitement of the day.
